make your merch

work for you

Are you a musician, comedian, performer, influencer, podcast host or small business/brand that has an audience?

Maybe you’ve released albums, music videos, books or content. Perhaps you've performed at a dive bar or a big venue. Have you received the always exciting "I'm obsessed with you" comment on Tik Tok or, gasp, in real life?

Ok, I see you. You're ready for the big leagues.

Merch, baby!

Sure, maybe right now you walk away from a gig with $150 in hand from a door split, or, more commonly, with a drink ticket (WELL DRINKS ONLY!) and “exposure”.

I don't know about you but I’m still not sure how to cash in the ol’ exposure chip to pay for rent.

The reality is, there are only a few reliable ways to make money as a performer, and merch is the main one. If you don’t have branded merch, you’re missing out on the easiest, and most noteworthy money you can make...not to mention, free advertising!

But you know this.

It’s not that you don’t want merch, you just don’t know how to go about designing, creating and ordering it.

You have questions, like...

Do you have to place a large order? Because you're really not sure how you'll sell through 500 units.

Do you need a graphic designer and if so, where do you find one?

How are you supposed to choose what apparel to use?

Can you try the apparel before you place an order?

What sizes do you order, and how many of each?

What else can you do BESIDES the classic tee shirts, sweatshirts and hats?

Or, maybe you’ve done a merch launch before and are still sitting on product 2 years later because the order minimum was insane.

Perhaps the quality wasn’t what you thought, the design came out wrong, the colors were off… and the beat goes on.

I was you, asking all those questions (and more, because I’m super neurotic).

What if I told you there was a way to do it yourself, for a fraction of the cost, that generated higher profit margins and provided better quality and more creative control than ordering through a screen printing vendor?

It was 2019 and I had just met with a local screenprinter to talk about getting my first everrrrrr order of band merch printed and to check out apparel samples firsthand.

Excitinggg!

Skkkkkrrtttt. Talk about a reality check.

I found out I would need to order a minimum of 100 pieces to even have a chance at making a profit. Oh, and the order? That was going to cost me around $2000.

Gigantic monetary investment aside, I had no idea how long it was going to take me to sell through everything because even though my current fan base was mighty…it was also small.

Speaking of small, where, pretell, was I going to store all of that apparel?! I lived in a shoebox sized studio apartment with closet space that was already packed to the brim.

Plus, all 100 of those pieces would have the exact same graphic on it, the only difference being in the form of a hoodie, crewneck or tee-shirt.

I wanted variety! You know, the spice of life!

Remember that shoe box apartment I mentioned? There was no room (or desire) for a giant heat press, let alone screens, paint and squeegees for on site screen printing.  There had to be a better way. It was 2019, baby.

So I went down a black hole of research. After hundreds of hours, a handful of ruined apparel blanks and accidentally making my apartment smell like a chemical fire had occurred...

I found the perfect solution to my merch madness.

I figured out how to get screen printed graphics delivered to my door, discovered a heat press that I could lift with one hand and fit under my bed, plus, resolved how to create a high quality, screen printed piece of apparel that has withstood the test of time. And I realized the world of merch goes faaaar beyond tee shirts and sweatshirts.

That's where it gets really fun.

And now I want to teach you how to do the same.

So you can make more money, have less stress and more control over your brand.

Rock Your Merch,

a one-of-a-kind, highly curated, immersive online course, created by a kooky creative for kooky creatives.

Let's be real. Creatives get screwed monetarily with just about everything we do. Everyone wants our money but no one wants to pay us for our talents.

Merch sales are one of the few areas that we have full control over, that can also legitimately result in a high return on investment. If you have an audience, you should have merch. And it goes far beyond tee shirts, hats and hoodies.

In Rock Your Merch, you will be guided through every single detail you’d possibly need to know (and maybe some you don’t because I am nothing if not thorough), to design, create, sell and maintain a stand alone merch brand that accurately represents you, your brand and your creative talents.

Now, I know we are in an era where it seems everyone is trying to sell you some random course that promises a way to “get rich quick”. This isn’t that. I have no idea if you’ll get rich, that's on you, baby. But what I can tell you is that you’ll save a hell of a lot of money creating and selling something you were going to create and sell anyways. And you're doing it in a way that is guaranteed to double and triple your profit margins. And that's not me being DrAmAtIc, that's just the math, math-ing.

Cut out the middleman and learn how to Do It Yourself. That’s all. The rest is in your hands. But if my ass can make a profit selling merch to my fanbase that is basically made up of my personal friends and some random people who found their way to my corner of the internet, then you my shining star, can make a profit too.

I’m not here to teach you how to beat the algorithm (closest I'm getting to that is listening to "Beat It" by MJ), I’m not teaching you how to have a better mindset (I am basically a human version of Oscar the Grouch). I’m just teaching you how to physically make something that you can sell, that is high quality and unique.

Let's be real. Everyone has merch, you and I both know you are gonna conjure some up anyways- this way you just make a big ol’ profit instead of stuffing 100 sweatshirts into your closet while cursing the fact that you bought in bulk .

Plus, I’m hooking you up with all the tools and worksheets I created and personally use, so you can have a fully stocked merch table at your next gig with the card reader working overtime.

Let me save you the hours upon hours of research, money wasted testing and troubleshooting and the back breaking experience of lugging a 100 pound heat press, that you borrowed from a friend, up to your 6th floor apartment, only to realize, there was a lighter, safer, less Crossfit-on-steroids way. Or was that just me?

So Who is courtney ?

I’m Courtney Noe. I'm like if Wednesday Addams, Ryan Reynolds and Tina Turner had a baby. I'm a pop/rock/ soul indie musician, comedian, writer, solopreneur, apparel designer, seamstress, thrifty bitch and DIY extraordinaire. I am also extremely stubborn, just for some juxtaposition.

At age 10 I joined the local 4-H sewing club. On my first day, I made a Christmas card holder (ironic since I am the Grinch). Since then I’ve leveled up and sewn intricate prom dresses (that I often finished as I was running out the door, very Cinderella of me), bathing suits, coats, trousers, and more recently, all of my stage costumes for my live music performances.

I believe merch is more than a tee shirt with lyrics in Arial font on the front. It’s an extension of yourself, your brand and your art. You should put as much effort into your merch as you do your songs, jokes, choreography, videos, scripts and cover art.

Your merch should be able to stand on it’s own, so even if someone has no idea who you are, nor heard any of your music, they’d still be inclined to buy your merch- because it’s that fucking cool.

(This has happened to me, people have purchased my merch without knowing who I was or what I did, and that is totally fine by me, my rent doesn’t discriminate).

In 2016 I released my debut EP, Invisible Crown.

In 2019 I dropped my second project, Bad Attitude, and with that, my first round of merch (designed, pressed, sold, and shipped out by me).

In 2021, I booked my first ever tour, and set out to Washington, Idaho and Montana, with my middle finger acid wash tee fully stocked, for my Small Town Tour. It was on that tour I realized the true power of merch.

In 2022 I moved to LA to really do the damn showbiz thing.

In 2023 I started my own freelance copywriting business and have written ads, commercials, emails, memes and everything in between for private clients and advertising agencies. When I'm not tap, tap, tapping away on my laptop I'm ranting on the internet, singing at an open mic, telling jokes (also at an open mic) and staying out of the sun.

This is for you if...

  • You don’t mind a DIY project
  • You want to own your career and treat it like a business
  • You want bigger profit margins and less of an upfront investment
  • You don’t have the audience to merit placing a 200+ unit bulk order at this time
  • You like to be involved in all aspects of your career and business

  • You want to offer your fans unique, innovative, high quality merch that strengthens your relationship with them
  • You need help with the entire ecosystem of merch
Smudgy Spray Paint Line

this isn't for you if...

  • You don’t want to do anything yourself
  • You consistently sell through your current bulk merch orders with nominal excess inventory
  • You want to keep missing out on money
  • You’d rather make .03 cents per stream on Spotify than invest in yourself and your career

Let's run it back one more time...

you get:

  • 14 recorded trainings with Courtney (with more being added as my brain discovers new information to share!)
  • An hour long, 1:1 consultation with Courtney
  • Proven lists, worksheets and templates
  • Lifetime access to the course and all recordings

$3250 in exclusive trainings, consultations, worksheets, templates and tools for $197.

Here’s the reality of the situation- you can spend $647 on 25 printed sweatshirts to then turn around and make a similar investment of $647 on tee shirts, then hats, then crewneck sweatshirts, then long sleeve tees, all while crossing your fingers you ordered the right quantity of sizes, and figuring out where they are living in the meantime.

And remember, all of those have a low profit margin.

Or! You could invest $197 now and make it back at one show, in one launch, ya know, whatever works for your business

That’s the way to do merch.

Ordering through a screen printer will not teach you anything, except perhaps how to eloquently maneuver around boxes in your apartment and that you should’ve listened to me.

Enrolling in Rock Your Merch teaches you every single thing you need to know about designing, creating, pressing, photographing, describing, selling and shipping merch, plus provides lists, worksheets and templates to keep you organized and on top of your game, on your way to fame.

Can you afford not to learn how to design, create and run your own merch business?

What if you invested in yourself, your music, your comedy, your content, your business, you THING, and learned the entire ecosystem from the ground up?

You’ll end up saving money, gaining huge profit margins, flexibility on quantities, true creative control over your designs, and the ability to create new pieces out of what you already have. It’s all covered, in depth, in Rock Your Merch.

FAQ's

Q: What if I decide making my own merch is too much work?

You wouldn’t be an artist, creative or performer in this decade if you were afraid of a little work, would you? I totally get that as creatives we have to wear all the hats, all the time. I also understand at some point, you need to take off some hats and pass tasks off to other people. I have so many fucking hats on right now, you guys. But this is one thing that will majorly pay off, like with real dollars, if you do it yourself. It’s not like editing your own video or taking your own photos. Learning how to do this on your own, will literally pay off. It will make you money. It’s one of the only areas we have left to actually make money- don’t let this be the thing you pass off.

Q: Is it really possible, and easy, to press / make merch myself?

Yes. I taught my friend how to do it in a couple minutes. He taught his mom how to do it in a couple minutes, while we were on tour (another perk of Rock Your Merch- you can take your supplies on the road and re-stock as needed).

Q: How much money have you saved by doing your own merch?

No lie, around $5000. And I've only done one launch. I wouldn’t have made a profit if I had gone through a screen printing vendor. That’s all there is to it.

Q: How do I book my 1:1 consultation with Courtney?

You will receive a scheduling link. You can schedule your one on one consultation with Coutney anytime you want. You can hold onto it and save it for when you’re further along in creating your own merch, or cash it in sooner, if you need design and brainpower nowuhhh. It’s up to you, and it never expires (until Courtney expires, but that’s dark).

Q: Do I need to buy any additional supplies for the course?

You will not need to buy any supplies for the digital course. I have made a supply list (it’s short, you don’t need a lot of things) for when you get ready to press/create your merch, but you don’t need to buy anything to participate in the course. Just bring yourself!
